  1. I embraced the change and freedom of my hair almost 2 years ago when I transitioned from having relaxed hair to being completely natural. I’ve always liked my hair to be a bit messy and was never really one of those women who insisted on having every strand in place. Being natural means I’m even less focused on having “perfect looking hair.” I’ve found that my hair has natural curl patterns and twists that I didn’t know about previously. I don’t fight my hair and have learned that it quite often has a mind of its own. I’ve embraced the fact that I have to work with my hair and not try to force it to behave like someone else’s natural mane. When styling, I’m able to create a variety of styles from twists, flat iron, braids, cornrows, etc.
